Matthew Peters- Managing Director

Matthew Peters is a cellist with 30 years experience, having performed all over America and Europe in some of the world’s best concert halls. He received a Talent Grant to study at Northwestern University with Hans Jørgen Jensen, and alternated his Summers studying with Mr. Jensen at the Meadowmount School of Music and studying privately with Peter Howard (then-Principal Cellist of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra).

Before receiving his degree in Cello Performance, Matthew became the youngest Producer of the Chicago Symphony radio broadcasts in their history.  Under the guidance of multiple Grammy-winning Engineer Chris Willis, he worked with such artists as Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, Yo-Yo Ma, Lynn Harrell, Peter Serkin, Gil Shaham, and more.  A few years later, in New York, Matthew was appointed as the Midwest & West Coast booking agent for Columbia Artists Management’s world-renowned soloist roster, and was the primary contact for 150 orchestras.

In addition to his work in classical music, Matthew is also an accomplished sound designer, composer and electronic/hip hop producer.  He has released several critically acclaimed albums under the name Mad EP, was a sound designer and live musician for several experimental theatre productions in New York, has performed in international festivals (such as Club Transmediale in Berlin, TodaysArt in Den Haag, Elevate in Graz, and DEAF in Dublin), and has been featured on Radio1 in the UK (his debut on Radio1 was played by the legendary John Peel), JJJ in Australia, CBC in Canada, and WFMU in America.  His work as Mad EP ranges from producing for hip hop acts such as the Shadow Huntaz, composing new music for 2Faced Youth Dance Company, DJ’ing a genre-defying monthly podcast on Sub.FM, to providing cello for notable electronic artists such as Venetian Snares and DJ Vadim.

Matthew now combines his experiences as a cellist, producer, and agent as the Managing Director of ABMC Productions.
