Mad EP
Biography
Classically-trained cellist Matthew Peters has been composing under the name Mad EP for over 20 years, released several critically acclaimed albums, and performed over 80 shows in 23 cities across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Collaboration is a central pillar of Peters' work and his releases are full of appearances from hip-hop MCs the Shadow Huntaz, Vandell 'equivalANT' Harris, Area Filthy One; jazz trumpeter David Young, drummer Bryce Beverlin II, guitarist Nicholas Major; and his own improvisation consort - the Manhattan Gimp Project. Additionally, he has composed for experimental theatre productions in Chicago and New York (including a sold-out residency at Collective:Unconscious with the Psychasthenia Society).
His genre-bending show 'Tasty Cyanide Radio' on Sub.FM ran for 6 years and he has contributed countless guest DJ and live mixes for various radio shows and podcasts across the globe. He has provided remixes for such notable artists as Unique 3, Aspects, Dälek, End.user, Patric Catani, Wage of Sin, Puppetmastaz, Mochipet, Jason Forrest; and been featured as a cellist on tracks by Venetian Snares, DJ Vadim, and Leafcutter John.
After a few years of dormancy, Peters has begun composing again with a particular interest in collaborating with dancers, choreographers, and filmmakers.

the Madlands Trilogy (3CD)
Ad Noiseam
"If an artist like Mad EP, who has already been credited with changing the horizon of contemporary music, sets out to redefine the parameters of what is possible and still comprehensible, it takes a humungous effort like “The Madlands Trilogy” to succeed."
- Tokafi [DE]
"With this collection, Peters has shown he can compete and often outrun some of the great cinematic beatscape makers and soundtrack composers. One of the most varied and enjoyable effortless albums of the year."
- Musique Machine [FR]

Eating Movies (CD)
Ad Noiseam
"Eating Movies approaches the intensity of No U-Turn and the scale of Kevin Martin's Techno Animal, while never remaining still enough to allow comprehension of its full DNA.."
